FASTING

Required to complete: Don’t eat anything for the indicated number of hours. In the app, the fasting icon is greyed out between 8PM and noon (6PM for Winter Reset) because that is a convenient fasting window for most people. Feel free to schedule your own 16/22 hour window and register it in the app between noon and 8PM.

Although sticking to a regular meal schedule is healthy, it is good to sometimes mix it up and skip a meal or two. In nature, this would happen often as people would take longer to collect food or return from a hunt empty-handed.

Whenever you fast for 12 hours or more, your body enters the first stages of ketosis. During your fast, your body will burn fat reserves and replace damaged proteins. This has a rejuvenating effect.

There are situations where we advise against fasting. Keep eating your normal three meals a day if one of the following applies to you:

  • When you are (trying to get) pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Just before and during your period.
  • If you suffer from migraines.
  • If you have a medical condition or are on medication that could be affected if you go without food (diabetes, heart conditions).
